Introducing Anis: Sparkling Summer, Kotobukiya’s first scale figure from Goddess of Victory: NIKKE—a substantial figure packed with fine detail!
The hugely popular game Goddess of Victory: NIKKE features many appealing Nikkes, each with her own distinctive personality. For this figure, the inspiration is the illustration of Anis: Sparkling Summer from the game’s summer event. Wearing a white swimsuit, Anis relaxes with a fizzy drink in hand. The result is an easygoing figure full of summer-holiday atmosphere.
Her dramatic expression seems to linger over the end of summer. Looking back over her shoulder with a sidelong glance and a knowing smile, she conveys a closeness to you, the Commander. It is a moment that makes you want to sit beside her and raise a glass of sparkling water.
Fizzy drinks are so important to Anis that she says she could not live without them. Even the label on the can has been reproduced in fine detail.
A substantial presence at 1/4 scale
Although she is seated, Anis measures approximately 220mm tall and 280mm at her widest. Those impressive dimensions, together with her curvaceous silhouette, give her a commanding presence.
She sits on a leisure mat spread across the beach, with both feet resting on the sand. Leaning forward with her chest close to her thighs, her posture is completely relaxed. The sculpt carefully captures the way the body meets itself, the fine swimsuit straps following her contours and the small spaces between the straps and her skin. The changes in her silhouette created by the seated pose are a particular highlight at this large scale.
And we will say it outright: the rear view is one of this figure’s standout features! The contours from her shoulder blades down to her waist are sculpted naturally, combining the underlying structure with soft, lifelike forms. The shape of her back in this seated position makes the entire sculpt feel more convincing.
The lines from her shoulders into her arms, and the spaces between the swimsuit straps and her skin, have also received close attention.
Of course, her generous bust, visible above the bold swimsuit, is another highlight. At 1/4 scale, its volume is captured with a natural sense of softness. The carefully arranged overlap of her arms and body leaves parts of the silhouette concealed, inviting the imagination.
Looking closely at her chest reveals a pendant with Anis’s characteristic star motif. Small but distinctive, it adds another touch of her personality, just like her hair accessory.
Her softly spreading hair is sculpted as many layers of fine strands, giving her short hairstyle the look of a breeze passing through it. Her familiar hair accessory sits on top. The clear purple sunglasses reproduce a realistic iridescent effect, changing their appearance with the viewing angle and the light.
Also worth examining is the jacket, worn loosely with one sleeve resting on her right arm. Thick layers of fabric, complex folds and a quilted-looking lining give it a substantial feel. Along with the sporty three-stripe detail, eyelets and tags, even the English lettering from the original illustration has been carefully reproduced. The overlapping fabric and folds created by the loose styling are highlights in their own right, as is the languid angle of her right wrist.
The finish also makes the most of the 1/4 scale. The paintwork aims for a translucent impression around the skin’s contours. Combined with the sculpt and delicate shading, it brings out a natural sense of softness. Look closer and you will notice details such as her painted toenails. The support worn on her leg adds a sporty accent, while the sand-textured base conveys the setting in a compact form.
An alternate expression offers a different smile
The alternate expression supplied as a Kotobukiya shop-exclusive bonus offers a different side of the usually cheerful Anis: a knowing smile with her lips gently closed. Blushing cheeks and a sidelong glance give her a playful, alluring expression, with a softer mood that recalls the end of summer.
